The Picasso Museum in Antibes
Built on the ancient acropolis of the Greek city of Antipolis, a former residence of bishops during the Middle Ages, the Grimaldi Castle was inhabited from 1385 onwards by the Grimaldi family, who eventually gave it their name.
Later, the Grimaldi Castle was inhabited by Picasso himself, who stayed and worked there for a few months in 1946. He created numerous works of art there, many of which are still on display today. Among these exceptional pieces, works by Ernst, Klein, and Picabia have since been added to the collection.
It is only since 1952 that deposits and donations have expanded the collection.
The Bonnard Museum in Le Cannet
The Bonnard Museum, located in Le Cannet, is the only museum in the world dedicated to the work of Pierre Bonnard, an exceptional 19th and 20th-century artist.
This unique cultural institution is naturally situated in the heart of Le Cannet, a town whose landscapes and magnificent light inspired the artist. An unparalleled relationship developed between Bonnard and Le Cannet, which is why the museum itself is also exceptional.
